Pitching

  • A pitch is a lofted shot that flies further than it rolls
  • Use a lofted club (Usually a lob wedge, sand wedge, or pitching wedge)
  • Open stance with feet closer together
  • Ball positioned in center of stance
  • Body turn is determined by the size of the swing
  • The backswing might be waist high, shoulder high, or regular full-swing depending on length of shot
  • Legs and body turn slightly through the shot
  • Practice using waist high, shoulder high and full-swing to become familiar with the various length shots they will produce
